Hoplite Solutions is seeking a Network Security Engineer to assist with the development, deployment, and O&M for client’s network.  You will support our work automating cybersecurity operations, emulating adversary behavior, and improving the defensive postures of our sponsors. You’ll evaluate tools and methodologies, assess adversary intent, develop cybersecurity analytics and other techniques to thwart or detect attacks, develop approaches to automate cybersecurity operations, and engage in research to improve the state of the practice.  

Required Qualifications:
  • Active TS/SCI with required polygraph clearance
  • Bachelors degree in related field
  • Demonstrated experience in Ansible development
  • Demonstrated experience writing scripts for automation, parsing data sets, and network monitoring (i.e., bash, Perl, Python, etc.) and performing network packet inspection, traffic analysis, performance characterization (i.e., Wireshark, TCPdump, etc.) 
  • Experience implementing cyber security standards in a fast-paced operational environment
  • Proficiency working in Linux systems; configuring Linux IPTables and SELinux; deciphering logs
  • Demonstrated experience in Linux system hardening
  • Demonstrated experience with security monitoring and log event triage using Splunk SPL
  • Demonstrated senior level knowledge of cyber security and information security practices
  • Hands on experience interpreting Linux and network data
  • Demonstrated experience serving in a mid to senior security analyst, network security engineer position or other relevant cyber security position 
  • Demonstrated experience with Splunk Enterprise Security (SES) Security Enterprise Incident Manager (SIEM) system or willingness to quickly take a course and learn SES 
  • Demonstrated extensive experience using/implementing security products such as network monitoring devices (i.e., Zeek, SNORT, Cisco Stealthwatch) and end-point security products to detect advanced attacks 
  • Strong understanding of incident response to include, research and identification of attack vector, malware mitigation and removal, and documentation of event 
  • Experience researching latest security developments and ability to implement security standards in a fast-paced environment 
  • Ability to work with stakeholders and developers to engage in joint project planning and execution

  • Candidate should be a self-starter and possess a willingness to dive into new technologies when appropriate
  • Experience implementing and documenting SOPs for system deployments

Salary at Hoplite Solutions is determined by various factors, including but not limited to location, the individual’s particular combination of education, knowledge, skills, competencies, and experience, as well as contract-specific affordability and organizational requirements. The projected compensation range for this position is $195,000 to $215,000 (annualized USD). The estimate displayed represents the typical salary range for this position and is just one component of the company total compensation package for employees.
